Step-by-step instructions on how to set up your new email account from scratch in Outlook Express. Use these only if you have not set up the email account that your ISP provided you with:
Follow these instructions if you have already set up an email account and want to ditch your ISP's email address.
In Outlook Express, go to Tools then Accounts, click on your account name and select Properties. Delete the existing email address and key in your new one. Click the OK button. That's it!
Simply change your current address to your new one by going to Tools > E-mail Accounts > View or change existing accounts. Click the Next button, then the Change button. Leave all the settings exactly as they are, and change the existing address to your new one. Click the Next button, then Finish.
You have an Internet Service Provider. (We feel that we can safely assume this since you're looking at this website.) You still need your ISP to connect to the Internet, but you don't want to use the email address that they've given you.
By far the easiest way to change your email address is to open whatever email program you use, and change your email address in the settings. It's as simple as that! You'll still continue to receive mail sent to your old address, but from now on every email that you send will carry your new address.
Check out the "Quick and Easy" instructions on the right; if you need any help, we're only a phone call away.
The instructions on this page relate only to customers of New Email Address. If you've landed here via a search engine because you need help in setting up your ISP's email account, you will need to contact your ISP for help with this.
